There are many ways how to get a bone graft. Sometimes it is so simple as to collect the bone particles are eliminated during the preparation of the site for placement of dental implants, as can be reused for grafting purposes. The most common area is the hip. It is very effective and very safe. This type of graft is called allograft, since it comes from another living being of the same species, in this case another human.

Sometimes synthetic materials can be used to stimulate bone formation. Materials such as hydroxyapatite, freeze-dried bone or other artificial materials can be used as bone grafts, and that will promote bone growth. This type of graft is known as artificial grafts or grafts plastic.
